Beekeeper
Martin Cassiano started working as a beekeeper when he was 18 years old. Thirty-five years later, he has become an expert in the world of bees. Today he manages 400 beehives, and collects 20 tons of honey a year. Amazingly with very little budget, Martin, his two helpers and nature’s good will (as Martin says) make this modest business work.

I am fascinated with bee keeping – not sure I want to attempt it, but a little hive out back would be romantic. I would love to photograph a bee farm – the last photo is really lovely!
Denise: Beekeeping it is one of many things we give for granted. The whole process is amazing. It is most definitely hard work but very gratifying.
